As the result of the visit he paid to Wellington last week, Mr E. Dynes Fulton, the chairman of the Town Board, secured a promise that a sum of £2OOO would bo forthcoming so that tho Hoard could proceed up to that amount 011 road works as authorised at the recent loan poll. A suggestion has been made that concrete roads should be laid down instead of tho tarred macadam system being adopted and this will probably bo considered at thu next meeting of tho Town Board. The Tuakau Branch of the Presbyterian "Women's Mission held a meeting on Tuesday last at the Church when 13 members wore present. Mrs Butterworth, the Presidont, took the chair and an interesting discussion ensued on tho claims of tho Indian Mission Field. It was thought that nothing delinito could bo undertaken until after tho war when it was anticipated a Sewing Guild would bo held to raise funds for the Mission Fiold.
