Or the conclusion of the picture entertainment last Wednesday night in the Public Hall a semi-private dance took place, Mr (J. Deed acting as M.C, and Miss Geraghty supplying the dance music. Those present had an enjoyable time the gathering not breaking up until morning dawned.
At a meeting of the Patriotic League held on Friday last it was decided to arrange a public reception and social at a date to bo fixed to greet the arrival of three local soldiers who are returning from the war. It was decided to invite Messrs Parr and Bollard M.P's. and Mr J. H. Gunson (Mayor of Auckland) to be present on the occasion. Mrs Lewis, Miss Foulkes and Messrs Patterson and Northmore were appointed a committee to arrange the evening's programme.
