Mr Earl, K.C., presiding at the Military Service Board at Hamilton on Tuesday, intimated that the Board would give every possible consideration to the farming industry, not in the interests of the appellants simply, but of the country as a whole Thoy recognised that the work of production must go on, and that it was not desirable that farms should be neglocted. The death took place on Monday last at her residence on Pukekohe Hill of Mrs Ellen Attewell, the widow of the late Mr Samuel Attewell. The deceased lady, who was 76 years of ago. was one of Puke kohe's earliest settlers. She leaves five sons and one daughter (Mrs James Pollock) to mourn their loss. The funeral took place at the Pukekohe Cemetery on Wednesday last, the Rev. i. B. Suckling officiating.
