MERCER.
It is intended by thi Town Board to alter the Town Hall by making provision for an operating bjx for picture exhibition purposes. The unveiling of the Honours Board at the Town Hall will take place on Friday, April 13th, when Mr R. F. Bollard, M.P., has promised to officiate at the ceremony. A social and dance will be held in the evening and the funds will be devoted for Belgian Relief. Sawdust, especially that of the white pine, is of exceeding value both for heating and manurial purposes. Just lately there has been such a demand for it for packing purposes that the United Timber Co. have just suppied a large Shipping Company with 21 tons of it. This had to be sent in bags no less than 420 sacks being requisitioned for the purpose. Labour being difficult to obtain school boys helped to fill the bags so that they could be despatched by train. It may be mentioned that the heating properties of sawdust are so great that at the depth of a foot the heat is almost unbearable.
