AUCKLAND MARKET REPORT.

Jones, Auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, roports under date of Saturday, March 3rd, as follows : The market this week has been exceptionally busy and for choice quality potatoes and choice young pullets strong demand existed Butter and eggs are a shade easier. The fruit market has been well supplied and for good desert and cooking apples the market remained iirm. At our sale yesterday well over the advertised number of poultry came forward and a strong demand existed for good young fresh hens, also pullet£. roosters of heavy breeds sold well though lighter breeds were neglected. Young ducks are in good demand We realised for a line of pullets from 5s 6d 8s 6d. We quote: Poultry Penned 1548 fowls: Boosters, prime, 4 s to 5s 4d; heM, heavy, 3s 6d to 3s 9d; smaller, light, 2s to 2s lOd ; cockrells, Is to Is 8d ; pullets, choice. 5s 6d to Hg 6d; good 4s to 4s 6d ; fresh conditioned young hens, 2s 6d to 3s sd; ducks, 2s to ss; turkey gobblers, 8s (id to 12s; hens, turkey, 4 s to (id ; geese, 6s. Farm and dairy produce—Potatoes, prime, 9s to 9s tid; good, £'B 10s to £8 15s; smaller, medium size, £7 to 7s 6d; sma'l, £5. Onions, 9s 6d to 9s ; pumpkin, os ; kumeras, 8s to 10s; swedes, £3. Butter, Is Id. Eggs, Is 6d to Is 'Jd. Cheese, 9d. Honey, 4d to 4Ad. Bacon, lOd to 11 Ad. Hams lid to Is. Fruit—Apples, choice, 6s to 7s Gd; good, 5s 6d to 6s 9ds; cookers, 5s to 7s : pears, w.b.b., 5s to 8s ; cookers, 58 to 6s; passion fruit, 2s to 2s 6d; grapes, lod to IOAd.
