PUNI'S CONTROVERSY HALL.
[The following was received last week but was unfortunately crowded out of Friday's issue. Otherwise it would have appeared prior to last night's meeting.]
Much has been said, and been written, And the districts surrounding are smitten, In regard to Controversy Hall. But last week the game advanced rather, And every person was quite in a lather With racing to Controversy Hall.
This time the meeting, 'twas said, By the Committee was to be led,
In Bum's Controversy Hall. The chairman, he opened, and called, For the Anthem, which tha crowd bawled In Puni's Controversy Hal!.
The finances, so 'twas contended, Would be worse, betore they were mended, For Puni's Controversy Hall. Yet the crowd leot an ear to the reading, And the business as of proceed-
ing Showed the coat r f Controversy Ball.
The cash, I do rot remember, Though Bank seemed to me rather Blender The result of Controversy Hall. Yet everyone seemed happy and hopeful, Ard no one appeared at all doleful, I regard to Controversy Hall.
But the meeting was only halt' over, And everyone more or less sober At this meeting in Controversy Hall, When the chairman, he took a notion, Made everyone speak to a motion, Thus to shorten Controversy Brawl.
The chairman, indeed, seemed to some, To require even more than a gua l'o keep order at Controversy Hall. And evpn now I don't understand, It's not clear, that even the land Belongs to Controversy Hall.
It's all very funny and something's alack, What work has the Committee done that is so Black'.' * In building this Hall. The place seems to me to be just all right, A one-eyed person se?s, of course, in a different light This rather nice Hall.
Still, all now is settled. The Committee have done And they, with the reef, will join in the tan
At Controversy Hail. At the election to be they should do all they tan, Elect all those critics, —Yes, right to a mats! Just give them a call.
The Memoriam notice has not yet come out, The Committee still are alive and about, This Committee ot Puui Hall. But, whatever happens, it can only be said. That if they are not, well, —They should pll be r'e?d Because of the Hall.
The election to come will tot up the sum, And the committee in power will all be one, Let us hope. For if they are not, then it's vain all that's passing, The whole business should now be a great deal more lastiug For the sake of the Hall. —Anon.
