At t,he instance of the Franklin A. & P. Society 33 building sections Bituated on the old showground in Pukekohe were on Wednesday submitted to auction on the property by Messrs Alfred Buckland & Sons. The result of the sale was that 18 of the sections found purchasers, the return to the Society amounting to £1338 10s on cash or deferred payments.
There was a good attendance and before commencing the proceedings, Mr C Brooks, who acted as auctioneer, alluded to the progress Pukekohe was making and the probable scarcity in the near future of residential sites in close proximity to the business portion of the town. In conclusion, he alluded to the important part the A. & P. Society played in assisting the development of the district and appealed to those present to show appreciation of the Society's efforts by bidding freely. The following were the prices obtained and the respective purchasers, viz : Lots 37 and 36, Mr C. K. Lawrie, £9O each; Lot 35, MrR. G. Pooley, £72 10s; Lots 34, 33, 32 ani 31 (combined) Mr D R. Hamilton, £l9O ; Lots 30 and 29 (combined; Mr M Hickey, £125 , Lot 28, Mr Prank Perkins £75 ; Lot 27, Mr Jas. Crosbie (Puni , £BO ; Lots 26 and 25, Messrs A. F. Brown, Kobson and Francis, £77 10s each ; Lot 4, Mr A. B. Barter, £100; Lot 12, Mr J. N. Massey, £BO ; Lot 24, Mr A. F. Brown, £lO2 10s; Lot 23, Mrs W. H. Fausett, £77 10 ; Lot 16, Mr E. (Jrum £lOl.
