Everything points io the fixture rank-ng as one of the most successful efforts of the Society. Private 6. E. McEvov, ;ate of Pukekohe, of the 15th Keinforcements, writing to a Pukekohe resident under date of December 10th from " Somewhere in France" 1 (inter alia) says : " A lot of our boys have joined the lads who have gone before. One thing one feels proud of is the way the people of Great Britain have approved of our boys. One has only to be a New Zealander to receive a welcome from everyone They are recognised as great fighters. I would tell those who have not yet filled their places in the ranks that ther> is need of men now as there never was before. I feel proud of the fact that if my life is required those I have left behind can hold up their heads and say that their Dad was not a shirker. I had the pleasure of being one of the lads picked out to go to London both for the Lord Mayor's Show and for the presentation of the freedom of London to Mr Massey. Mr Massey's speech on tho latter occasion was one of the best I have ever heard him make." The Town Clerk of Pukekuhe makes announcement that the (main) electoral roll, as prepared for the forthcoming mayoral and municipal elections, is opou for inspection until Thursday of next week. Any objections to persons whose names are on the roll must be made before March Ist. On the other hand, omissions of names ot qualified persons can bo rectified by their inclusion in the supple uentary roll, which will be issued in due course. The responsibility of seeing that their namos are on the ioll is with tbo electors themselves and they will be well advisod to take nothing for granted, but to ascertain for themselves whether they are on the roll or not. Much annoyauce and disappointment is frequently occasioned to people who, imagining they aro on tho roll, have gono to the polling booth with tho full expectancy of being able to record their votos, only to find that they ate nut entitled to do so so. Now is the time to act, and people who neglect the opportunity will only havo themselves to blame if they are left out.
