MERCER.

At the sitting at Hamilton on Wednesday of the Military appeal Board G. S. Hawson, farmer, Mercer, appealed on the ground of undue hardship. Appellant deposed that his mother, aged 78, and a sister who was not strong, were dependent upon him. The Board was examining him upon his financial position, when the appellant stated that his mother was the most important consideration. The Board did not consider the appellant had made out a sufficiently strong case for total exemption, but granted an extension until Ist April.
