The following is an extract received by a member of the League from a soldier in the tiring line : —"I am very fit and well in spite of the bad weather, we hud a fairly rough spin as it was wet most of the time and one had practically nothing beyond what he stood up in. It is in times like this that those knitted things your League are sending come in useful. Let th m say what they like one can't have too many woollen things this winter. Sone individual may get to many of any one specific article and may use it as a rag instead of giving it to his less fortunate companions. Socks particularly are always welcome aud are at a premium in this turnout at present. Take it from me the experience of the Now Zoalanders in the Big Push has taught us that we can't have too many knitted comforts."
