PATUMAHOE
A well attended concert arranged by local Methodists was held in the Patumahoe Public Hall last evening, when a select and varied programme was presented to an appreciable audience as follows: Pianoforte solo, Miss Pilkington; recitals " The Wreck of the Nancy Bell," (W S. Gilbert) and " The Water Mill,"' (Sarah Doudney), Rev J. B. Suckling ; song, Mr Guthrie; recitations, "Dora" (Tennyson), and "The Legend Beautiful" (Longfellow), Rev J. B. Suckling; hand bell selections, Mr F. Sou9ter; recitals, " The Revenge (Tennyson); *' The Veteran " (Chevalier), " The Turn of the Tide "(H Van Dyke), Rev J. B. Suckling; song, Mrs Pilkington; recitals, "Effnx Ballada" (Benham), "The Bishop and tbe caterpillar" (Anonymous), Kev. J. B.JSuckling; band bell selections, Mr F. Souster; pianoforte solo, Miss Pilkington; recitations, "The Mysterious Way" (N. P. Willis), "Tbe Bouse that Jack Built," Rev. J. B. Suckling; Bong, Mrs Pilkington; recital, "Crossing the Bar" (Tennysun), Kev. J. B. Suckling. Mrs Pilkington kindly acted as accompanist throughout tbe evening. Tbanks were expressed for the services rendered by those who contributed to the programme. Tbe coLcert was arranged on behalf of tbe Circuit and Trust Funds, and it was gratifying to know that there was such an appreciatve audience, which in no small way added to the pleasure of those wbo freely gave their services for tbe entertainment of the people.
