PAPAKURA.
The usual monthly meeting of the Papakura Town Board, postponed from January Ist owing to the holidays, is to be held next Monday. A School Committee meeting was held last Monday to arrange details with regard to the forthcoming excursion to Devenport on Wednesday next. Those present were: Messrs S. Evans (chairman), J. Whitaker, Creighton, McLean, J. Andrews, T. Woodhouse, L. J. Mills, J. Walker, with the secretary, Mr G. Hardy.Mentionwas made of the difficulty experienced by the schoolmaster (Mr Elliott) in obtaining a suitable house, the schoolhouse being unfit and inconvenient to him.
Quite a number of enquiries are being received for properties in Papakura and Manurewa districts, and Messrs L. J. Mills and Co. have lately disposed of a house and three acres at Manurewa belonging to Mr R. McCorquindale (near Drury) for over £IBOO.
Property owners and others should kindly note that Messrs L. J. Mills and Co. have been appointed local agents for the South British Insurance Co. for all classes of risks.
