PROPHECY.
" Old Moore's Hopes and Promises For 1917."
"Moore's Almanac" and "Old Moore's Almanac" for 1917 are out, and each with many prophecies about the course of the war in the coming mcst fatefrl year, but neither of (hem isdariug enough to give the approximate date of the and ot tbe war.
For one penny old Moore tells you that he beholds "the hoet and angels sounding the cl rion of peace and goodwill," and gives a picture of the British lion "re-tirg awhile after the terrible struggle he hBB passed through " Uld Moore predicts "a marvellous recovery in every way for the Great Empire after the devastating and devilish war," but tells his readers not to be over sanguine.
"Ibis December (1917)," be says, "will he a peiiod of happiness and joy to neatly tbe whole of tbe English-speaking race. Tbe news from France during the last days of the year will be most encouragirg, and we Bhall be in a dosttion to oifer our friend and neighbour leartv congratulations."
For sixpence Moore's Almanac is not so committed, and is content with giving the tollowing dates foreboding ill tor the Kaiser:— "Mars' conjunction with Jupiter, June 8. This falls in the twelfth house, denoting much crime and lawlessness. It talis on Uranus in the Kaiser's horoscope and in opposition to hiß moon, denoting a grave crlßis.
"Saturn's conjunction with Neptune, August Ist. This is very evil tor the Kaiser, foi it falls on his Saturn and in opposition to his sun. It threatens financial crisis and personal danger. A financial and economic downfall is threatened in Germany.
"Mars' conjunction with Neptune, September 22nd. Tbia ia equally evil tor tbe Kaiser inflicting the same points in bis horoscope. Mars' conjunction with Saturn, October Ist. This is a most evil conjunction, and denotes serious riots in Austria and also in Germany, the outcome of which bodes ill for the Ktiser."
