We understand Mrs Thoui|(* son, and the Misses Thompson, will arrive about the end of the present month and we are sure will be well received by all. Messrs Dalgety and Co. are erecting new sale yards next the Presbyterian Church. Mr W. Little, their representative, has taken up his residence at Tuakau.
Another well known Tuakau m|n in the person of Sergt.-Major English, oftbeN.Z. Medical Corps, has been spending a few days holiday in this district.
The selection of the statutory weekly half-holiday for Tuakau is to be made at a meeting of the Town Board to be held on Tuesday of next week.
A Maori, Koti by name, fell to Constable Taylor's last Saturday tor excessive adoration at the shrine of Bacchus and at a J.P.'s Court at Pukekohe on Monday he was called upon to pay the sum of 10s in respect of his lapse from sobriety.
