NO ADMITTANCE.
Judge Isaac Franklin Russel, Chief Justice of the Court of Special Sessions, of New York, has to make a personal supervision 01 penal institutions, among them insane asylums, as one ot his official duties. He went to the White Plains asylum recently on a tour of inspection, and found a strange guard at the entrance, an old friend of his having been discharged. Judge Russell told the guard he wished to be admitted.
"Can"t do it," was the answer. "But I have business here," said the judge. "I come from New York." " We've got two hundred in here now who came from there," answered the other.
"I'm afraid you do not know who I am," ventured the judge, getting tired of the guard's belligerent attitude. " I am Chief Justice of tho Court of Special Sessions " "Cut it, cut it," broke in the other. "We've got tliree men inside now who say they're Chief Justices."
