The Puni Hall.

,TO THE EDITOR.] Sir,—Mr B. Fulton's letter in your issue of the 19th caused much amusement among Puni residents. It is indeed a pity that Mr Fulton is not sleeping well, simply because he was beaten by a man much better qualified than himself to be a trustee. I have no doubt that Mr Fulton's "'stranger" whose movements have been so closely watched will be able to speak for himself, though it is noteworthy that the gentleman referred to, even according to Mr < Ful'on's own statement, arrived earlier in the district than was claimed for him. It may be true that he went away at timet, but * * surely even Mr Fulton doesn't stay at home all the time In any case, Mr Fulton wasn't above accepting the vote of a youth —an individual manifestly below voting age ' Mr Fulton's insinuation that the people of this district are such a set of rogues that they would, if a new committee were appointed, repudiate their just debt!*, and let him in for some bil'.a or other that he says he > has backed, ought to be very flattering to Puni people generally, and speaks for itself. I see that Mr Fulton, having been beaten, talks about a meeting of n subscribers." Why didn't he object to the voting qualification agreed on by all prior to the election of trustees. Of course it would have been all alright if Mr Fulton had managed to have a win. In conclusion, I would hke to ask if one of the ways Mr Fulton desired to show his "interest" in the hall was to demand £2O for a piece of ground (part of the Tramway road) that has since been valued by the County Council at £2 15s. This, when ho thought no other suitable site was available.—l am, etc., ANTI-HUMBUG.
