RAMA RAMA.

BELGIAN FUND FETE A fete in aid of the Belgian Fund was held in Miss Cole - Baker's grounds on Saturday, Dec. 9th and proved a great success The entertainment was in the nature of a large picnic, lunch and afternoon tea being provided. A jumble stall and sweets stall in the shade of a huge maerocarpa tree, were a great attraction to both old and yonng, and were soon dismantled, every article being sold. Mr Fox was in chaige of the vegetable and plants, and found ready sale for both j new potatoes and green peas being in great demand. A tree in the centre of the lawn attracted crowds of children around it, all anxiously waiting until 2 o'clock, when the sale of tickets commenced and from then until every article was gone, Miss L Alexander and Mr W. Alexander were kept busy satisfying the orders of the wee ones.

Several competitions were held, Miss E. Allen winning the painted table-centre, Miss L. Alexander the tea-cosy (nail-driving), Miss M. Allen the afternoon tea-cover, and Willie Hughes the lamp (nail-diivingj. While afternoon tea was being dispensed Mrs Sharp took up a collection in aid of the funds, which augmented them to the extent of £6 9s. Several donations were handed in during the afternoon, which with the sale of gifts, etc., brought the total takings up to £23 for the day —very gratifying to the promoters. Games were indulged in by the young people as long as the light lasted, the swings being kept going the whole day. The money has been paid over to the Christmas Belgian Fund, which with the £ll from Mrs F. L Wright's garden party makes a total of £34.

The latest recruit from Kama Rama is Mr W. T. Baker, who on the day he was 20 years old went up and passed the medical test.
