That the cattle-straying nuisance is in a fair way to be abated, thanks to the energy of the ranger (Mr J. A. Clarke), unless owners are prepared to be continued to be mulcted in fees, is portended by the report as presented to the Wairoa Road Board at its meeting on Monday last by Mr Clarke showing that be had impounded nine horses in October, and 12 horses, 19 cows and 30 head of young stock in November,
