THE MAN OF PLUCK
'STEADFAST AND CHEERFFL AND TRUE."
Three cheers for the man who scorns to fall On the rugged road of life; Who means to reach the far-away goal And conquer trouble and strife; Whose only watchword is, "Persevere/' Mating with hope and content, Who hangs not his head in sorrow and fear, But looks to the firmament.
Three cheers for the man undauntel still, When his heart is sad and drear, Who gets to the front with a sturdy will, And a smile instead of a tear; Who liveth not for himself :i!one, But to succour and strengthen the weak — Who looks on sorrows beyond his own. And is never afraid to speak.
Three cheers foi the man who tries his best, And recks not ben something goes wrong; Who bravely fights when he's put V> the test, Though the struggle be weary and long.
Three cheers for the worker 011 -oil or tsoa, Doing the little he can and be Steadfast and oheerful and true.
