STOCK SALE REPORTS.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report as follows ; At Pukekohe on Saturday we held our monthly dairy sale. There was a large attendance of buyers, and practically the whole yard was cleared. The best springing cows and heifers sold at from £l6 10s to £lB, more batkward £ll to £14.55, aged £7 5s to £lO ; best cows and heifers, in milk, £ls to £lB 10s, others £8 to £l3 ss; 10 cows in milk sold on account of Mr A- G. Landon averaged £l4 10s 6d. We held our weekly sale in the Pukekohe yards on Monday, and had a large yarding, every department being well represented. There was a large attendance and a keen demand, very little failing to change owners. Very forward four to five-year-old steers made from £l4 16s to £l6 12s (25 from Messrs L. and O. Cox, Port Waikato, brought £l6 ss); forward three to four-year-old £l3 10a to £l4 15s, 2A to three-year-old £lO lCs to £l3, yearling to two-year old £7 10s to £10; ompty cows £7 5s to £lO 10s; yearling to 18-months heifers £5 5s to £7, two year old £7 7s to £8 10s ; calves £2 5s to £4 10s; fat steers £l4 17s 6d to £l7 17s 0d; fat cows and heifers £9 to £l4 17s od.
On Wednesday, November Ist, at our weekly Westlield fat stock market we sold fat cattle to the number of '587 head, comprising 258 steers, 120 cows and heifers and four bulls. The quality of the ox beef was excellent. There was a strong demand, with values firm at late quotations. Choice ox sold to £2 9a prime £2 6s Gd to £2 8s 6d, rough and plain beef £1 14s to £2 os per 1001b: cow and heifer beef £2 to £2 Cs; steers ranged in price from £l3 17s Gd to £23 7s Gd ; cows and heifers, £7 15s to £l6 2s Gd. The highest averages for steers included 16 from Mr Joseph Slater, Pukekawa, £lB lis lOd; 15 from Mr Charles Bischotf, Otaua, £l6 14s 10d; and 8 cows from Mr James Slater, Pukekohe, £l3 7s lOd. There was a small yarding of sheep, which sold freely at last week's figures Extra heavy prime woolly wethers £2 6s 6d to £2 8s 9d; heavy prime shorn £1 lis 9d to £1 148; heavy prime woolly £2 4s to £2 6s, lighter woolly wethers £1 19s to £2 3s; medium shorn wethers £1 8s to £l 10s; best woolly ewes £1 17s to £2, shorn £1 8s to £1 lis, other woolly ewes £1 13s to £1 16s; prime woolly hoggets £1 14s to £1 18s; good shorn hoggets £1 6s to £1 8s: smaller and unfinished £1 3s 9d to £1 ss. (1017 sold). The 77 lambs met with a keen sale at fully late high rates. Best heavy £1 9s to £1 12s 9d (40 from Messrs Geo. and C. Coxhead, Manurowa, averaged £1 9s 2d), lighter £1 5s to £1 8a 6d, smaller £l to £1 4a 6d. There was a full yarding of fat and young calves, which were easier in value. Bunnera brought from £7 10a to £l3 12s 6d; heavy vealers £4 10a to £6 10s, medium £3 15s to £4 ss, lighter £2 15s to £3 10s, light £1 16s to £2 12s, email 15a to £1 148, freah dropped from 6a. The 324 pigß yarded were iu excess of requirements, and values were lower in consequence. v Heavy baconers £3 15s to £4 19s, lighter £3 8s to £3 13a, light £3 to £3 6s, large porkers £2 15a to £3 11a, smaller £2 7a to £2 12a (id, small £l 16a to £2 sa, slips £1 6s to £l 15s 6d; weaners 17sto£l 2s.
