Before leaving Pukekohe for Wellington on Thursday evening, subsequent to the Chamber of Commerce's dinner, the Hon. G. W. Russell, M.P. (Minister of Internal Affairs), made a special point of interviewing Mr C. Clarke (the proprietor of the Pukekohe Hotel) and Mrs Clarke and of complimenting them on the exceptional excellence of the repast of which he had partaken. "The spread," he said, was one of the best served at any public gathering in the Dominion at which he had attended.
