IRISH GIRL SERGEANT.
BRAVE HOSPITAL NCRSE WHO EIGHTS FOR SERVIA. A young woman wearing the uniform o<" the Servian infantry, two stars on her cuff marking her as of sergeant's rank, stepped on board the boat for Salonika at Toulon 011 August G, and, after having gravely saluted the captain, said she was returning to rejoin her regiment. She is an Irishwoman, M:ss Flora Sandes, who was in Serv:a at the outbreak oj the war, and at once joined hospital, whero she served until the great retreat. When hospital service was no longer possible, she enlisted in the army, and took part in all the fighting, including the heroic two months' retreat to Durazzo, in which this brave woman was the lodestar of a han<Jul - f Servian heroes. She obtained short leave, and visit-eel London, and is now on her way to tako her place in the ranks o£ the reconstructed army.
