A Frenchman who, presumably, was devoted to tie pleasures of the table, directed r'? ne "' cooking recipe should be pasted on his tomb every day; and anr ren ° ' a kiwyer, left francs to a local lunatic asylum, declaring that it was simply an act of restitution to the clents who were insane enough to employ his services. -Not many years ago, a queer old native of Finland devised his property to the devil, and the State took possession of it! To catalogue the eccentric wills that have been made would fill a volume. Some of these wills betray a grotesque sense of humour, while others reveal perverse crankiness on the part of the testators. Some time ago there died a wealthy man whose will left his wife penniless unless she married again within five vears, the reason given for this proviso being that he wanted somebody else to find out how hard it was to live with her—truly a monstrous revelation of post-mortem spite and one that any decent court ought to have set aside.
