RAMA RAMA.

The monthly meeting of the Rama Rama-Runciraan Branch of the Farmers' Union was held at Runciman on September 9th, when a good attendance was recorded. The president, Mr Dufty, presided. The secretary read the correspondence and it was decided re the bookkeeping classes that the secretary should write to the Provincial Secretary to ascertain if they could not draw out some simple form of book-keeping for small farmers As to auctioneers' commissions on sales the members were pleased at the step taken and hope to still get further reductions The scheme with regard to soldiers farms was approved of, the members being willing to assist to their utmost with regard to it.

The Ladies' Guild purpose holding their annual sale of work very shortly, their purpose being to augment the "Fund for Wounded Soldiers." The " Christmas Billy " scheme is also on foot and the residents are responding readily to it. The latest recruits from Bama Kama are Messrs D. Bussell and B. Grant, who have been accepted for the front. Mr D. Lynch has just completed the erection of a most up-to-date milking-ehed on his farm and is having a milking machine and separator installed.

At the recent Auckland Horticultural Society's Show the Bama Bama school children secured third prize for their exhibit of daffodils, while Ken Pilkington also figured in the prize list with a second for daffodils. Mrs Sharp secured three lsts and two 2nds for daffodils, and Alice Sharp first for Junior Table Decoration.
