Mr F. W. F. Fagac's clearing sale at Clifton, Whitford, previously advertised by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. lor Friday next, has been postponed until further notice. The usual evening opening of the Pukekohe telegraph office for the Bummer months, viz., from seven to eight o'clock, will come into force as from Monday next, October 2nd, and continue until March 'Jlst. The Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce have arranged to hold a public dinner at an early date and the gathering, it is hoped, will be the first of similar functions to take place every year. A concert in aid ol the funds of the Pukekohe Convent is to be given by the pupils in the Premier Hall, Pukekohe, on Thuisday next. The programme is of a most interesting nature and the success of previous similar gatherings is certain to be "fully maintained on the occatiou under notice. Heoeral meetings of the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce are in future to be held every month, viz., on the first Monday in each month, instead ot business being mainly transacted by the Committee. The charge has been made in order to infuse mare general interest in the work of the Chamber.

A little short of one inch of rain fell m Pukekohe for the 24 hours ending 9 a.m. to-day.
