The son of a Liverpool man was responsible for the brilliant feat of bringing down the famous German airman Immelmann. He is Second-Lieutenant M'C. the son of Mr. David A. M'C. Johannesburg, and a grandson of Mr. James T. M'C, of Rootle. He jo'irl the Royal Flying Corps only this year, as mechanic, but owing to his ability he was quickly promoted. Young M'C. w,as educated at .Johannesburg College. Ho endeavoured to join the forces in South Africa at the beginning of the war, but the authorities refused to take him on account of Ins nge. Subsequently his father gave him permission to go to England to join the Royal Fly in ; Corps, which he did in February. After flying at Hendon and other places in England, ho went to France a few months ago, and it was lvs great luck to <onie m contact with tke crae'i Gorman aviator, with the result tint the Latter was killed in an a' rial combat.
