FRANKLIN A. AND P. SOCIETY.

A meeting of the General Committee of the Franklin A. and P. Society was held in the fukekohe Borough Council Chambers on Wednesday evening; last, the members present being:—Messrs C. K. Lawrie, preisdent, D. K. Hamilton, A. P. Daysh, F. Perkins, K. Bilkey, J. Wylie, J. Alassey and F. Shipherd, toaether with the secretary, Mr J. M. Baxter. After a lengthy deliberation it was decided that the building sections on the old showground should be submitted to auction by Messrs J. T. Stembridge and Co., and a sub-committee, consisting of the president, and Messrs J. Wylie and F. Perkins, were empowered to deal with the sale thereof. A suggestion was made by the president that the section on Manukau road leased by the Society from the Railway Department should also be offered at auction, Mr Lawrie expressing the opinion that it would be several years before the Society, in :ts present financial position, could think of erecting an office on the site.-The meeting, however, considered it advisable to defer the matter as a good sale of the showground sections might be effected, in which event it might be possible to erect an oilier. The following were appointed Bubcommittees to . revise the prize schedule, viz.-—Horses: Messrs Wylie, Potter, Koulston, Kennelly, Barter, bilkey and ShipherPCattle,sheep and pigs: J. Seblaepfer,' Craig, Hamilton, Daysh, Lawton, Wallace, Young and Rutherford. Poultry, dogs and farm produce; Ballard, Webb, Sharpe, Huobard and Perkins. Bakery, preserves and needlework: Wylie, Webb, Nixon, Grigor and Baxter. A Grounds' Committee consisting of the following were appointed, viz.:—Messrs Shipherd, I'erkins, Daysh, Hamilton, Wylie, C. K, Lawrie. Dynes Fulton and J. N. Massey. A motion of sincere sympathy was passed to Mr and Mrs Delaney, late of Buckland, in the loss of their son, Sergeant Delaney, who died lighting at Hip" front, wan r,irri<<| in silence.
