i After one of the mildest winters ever experienced here the weather during the month of August has been exceptionally severe, cold equally showers being of almost daily occurrence. All growth is at a standstill and cultivation of the ground for spring sowing is out of the question. All classes of stock aro beginning to show the effects of the continuous cold rains. Sheep farmers especially aro experiencing a rather anxious timo during the lambing season and many losses arc reported. As if to add to the farmer's troubles tho roads are fast approaching an irnpass-tble sUte, and altogether the farmer's lot is anything but an enviable ouo at the present time
