STOCK SALE REPORTS.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report as follows: We held a special sale of Mr Wm. Hamilton,s dairy cows at Drury on Tuesday, and had a most successful sale. Buyers were numerous, competition keen, and high prices ruled. Best cows, in milk, £ls to £l7; springers, £l2 10s to £18; other cows, in milk, £9 to £l3 10s; bull, £lB 18s; calves, £4 9s. On Wednesday, at our weekly Westfield fat stock market, there was an improved demand, with an advance in values. Choice ox to £2 7s per 1001b, prime £2 4s Cd to £2 6s; ordinary and rough beef, £1 13sto £2 Is; cows and heifers, £1 18s to £2 ss. Steers ranged in price from £ll 10s to £22 12s 6d; cows and heifers, £6 10s to £ls. The highest averages for steers were: —7 from Mr B. Reed, Waerenga, £2l 13s 2d; 22 from Mr T. R. Tindall, Awhitu, £lB is, 8 from Mr J. Given, Waiuku, £l7 Is 3d. There was a heavy market of mutton, and, generally, the quality was superior to recent markets. Competition was steady throughout with values on a par with late sales. Extra heavy prime weathers brought from £2 2s 6d to £2 4s 9d; heavy prime wethers, £1 18s fid to £2 Is 6d. Several consignments of wethers averaged over £2; medium to heavy prime wethers, £1 16s 0d to £1 18s; light and unfinished, £1 10s to £1 15s 6d. Best heavy prime ewes, £1 14s to £1 16s 3d; good ewes, £1 11 sto £ 1 13s, others 13s to £1 7s; hoggets, £1 8s to £1 12a for well finished, others £1 Is to £1 6s. Fat and young calves were again yarded in full numbers, and sold at late quotations. Burners made from £7 78 6d to £l3 5s ; heavy suckers £3 18s to £4 15s, medium £3 5s to £3 16s, lighter £2 10s to £3 3s, light £2 2s to £2 8s; small and fresh dropped, 3a to £1 18s. Pigs were penned in average numbers, and maintained late prices. Choppers sold from £5 to £7 ss; heavy baconers, £4 to £4 15s, medium £3 10s to £3 19s, light £3 3s to £3 9s; large porkers £2 16s to £3 2s, smaller £2 10s to £2 15s, small £2 to £2 6s; slips, £1 6s to £1 15s; weaners, 15s to £1 4s; suckers, 5s to 12s.
