The Waikato Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., invite tenders, per tbe medium of our advertising columns, tor tbe transport of cream on the Waikato river.

Particulars will be found in our advertising columns of Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' special sale of dairy cows to be held at Pukekobe on Friday of next week. The Waikato Farmers' Co-op. Bacon Co. notify clients by advt. in this issue that they will receive pigs at Tuakau and Pokeno next Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

Messrs Frank Perkins and Co., as agents for tbe Te Aroba Bacon Co., anouncc that they will receive pigs at Pukekobe on Monday, September 4th, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Announcement is made in our advertising columns by Messrs Buck land and Sons that tbe tale arranged to take place to-morrow in the estate of Mr A. G. Diprose. at Pokeno, has been postponed until turtber notice.

Lieut. Cross, of the Maori Reinforcements, is at present engaged assisting Sergt-Major Ansell, of the Permanent Bt*ff, in organising for home defence the Maoris of Territorial age in the King Country and the Waikato. Up to date some 100 Maoris have enlisted. Lieut. F. A. Macdonald, of the Staff Corps, who has been acting as Area Officer in charge of the districts between and including Hamilton and Otahuhu, has received promotion to the position of Group Commander, No. 4 Group, vacated by Major Northcroft haying entered camp.

Authority was given to the Mayor at the meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council hell on Wednesdav to make arrangements for raiding a loan of £12.000 at a rate of interest not exceeding five and a quarter per cent, conditionally on the same being sanctioned at the poll of ratepayers next Wednesday. Owners of player pianos, piano players, organs and pianos, are offered an exceptional opportunity of having their instruments skilfully tuned and adjusted. The E. and F. Fiano Agency, Ltd. [lit S. Coldicutt, manager), of Auckland, has arranged tor one of their staff, recently arrived from London, Mr F. W. Hardingham, to visit Pukekohe before the 20th of this month. As Mr Hardingham's time in Fukekohe will be very limited, he will only be able to call on thOße who leave instructions at the office of this paper.

Another ot the series of euchre parties promoted by the rukekone Pierrot Club, the nett proceeds of which are to go to tne Na«y Fund, was held in the Carnival Tea Rooms on Tuesday evening last. The Company numbered 32, and a very enjoyable gathering resulted. First prize for ladies was won by Mrs H. U. Lyenar, and for the sterner sex by Mr J- Brown, Miss Nelly Taylor and Mr H. Short qualifying for the respective "booby" trophies. Light refreshments were served in admirable style by Mrs Tomlio and Miss Kiddle, the lady proprietors of tha Tea Kosms, and were highly appreciated.
