• THE ALLIES' FIGHT IS OURS." Carnegit Hall, Xow York, was crowded one evening recently, on the occasion of the demonstration organised by the Amer can Rights C'oniniittee in commemoration of tlie Lusitania disaster. The speakers united in railing upon th-* United States immediately to ioia forces with the Allies, and Mr. George H. Putnam, the well-known publisher, who presided, declared "th.e Allies' fight is ours," adding that u lien peace came the present belligerents would never l : sten to the words of a cowardly neutral nation which had nothing to show for the war except the milj'ons •: had made out of the sale of munitions. Mr. J. B. Townsend read a declaration denouncing the sinking of the l-;is-itania, and conclttding with the assertion that- the time had come for the United States to support the Allies ; 7i thoi'r fight for democracy and for the maintenance of the fundamental principles of civilisation. The declarat'on was unanimously adopted as a res-->lu-tiou bv the meeting.
