THE FAMOUS DANDIES.
At Pukekohe, August 18th.
Although "The Dandies'' have not yet been seen in Pakekohe. their reputation as a gifted body of entertainers has preceded them. The announcement that Mr Edward Branscombe's well known Company will appear in the Premier Hall next Friday evening, prior to opening the Auckland season on Saturday, is one which should be welcomed by all who enjoy a night of pleasant relaxation. The visiting artists are credited with an unusual capacity in the way of variety of items, constituting their programme. Whilb comedy ;s greatlv in evidence, yet room is also found for the inclusion of several excellent Jmusical numbers by the Company's vocalists. Amongst the latter Mr Ford Waltham, the basso of the party, is probably one of the most popular artists who have ever been heard in the Dominion. Mr Waltham baa a voice of remarkable depth and richness in quality. But it is not only as a vocalist that Mr Waltham shines, tor he appears to great advantage in the comedy section also, and is prominent in the delightful comedy sketches which are presented during the performance. The chief comedian of the party is Mr Joseph Brennan, a versatile performer who is announced as a character comedian and monologuiat. In the former Mr Brennan is said to be intensely diverting in his many portrayals ot odd people. Miss Ina Newton and Miss Rita Fitzgerald are described as a dainty pair ot comediennes, each specialising on different lines. Another prominent performer is Mr John Campbell, a light comedian, who originally toured the Dominion as a member of Mr Graham Moffat's Company in "Bunty Pulls the Strings." The vocalists ot "The Dandies" include, in addition to Mr Ford Waltham, Miss Lily Fitzgerald, an operatic soprano, Mr Marshall Lawrence, baritone, and Mr Robert Agnew, tenor. A feature of the programme are the selections trum grand opertj which are sung by the entire Company. "The Dandies" are well recommended. They are established very firmly in the public esteem and their apearancc next Friday in Fukekohe should command a [record attendance. Popular prices will bo charged, and seats may be reserved without extra charge at the Bookery.
