BELGIAN AUDACITY.
A little paper entitled ''Fie, 1 FVii11111" k published under the very no-o ol' von Kissing, the German Governm of 13elgum, vet all his efforts to linrt from whence it comes, or whither it goes. have ken unavailing. The paper conies out at odd times, says the " Daily Chronicle." and is circulated in the most audacious and at the same tj 1110 thoroughly successful fashion. Iho German Governor of Belgium finds a copy of the paper on his desk ; it its sent to all the prominent gentlemen, both (ierman and Belgian. Sometimes it comes through the post: sometimes it is dropped into letter boxes at midnight. pished under doors, and yet no niie has been found with a copy. Jhe " Libre Belghpie," in each of its issues contains letters from the front, quotations from the British and I'rench newspapers, and jokes at the cxpenso of the Boclie, particularly directed ag-aiiv-t il e Governor General, von Bis,sing. The following story is given under the title of " Unusual intuition" : A Prussian officer, one of the innumerable host whom we harboured tor many years, and who took advantage of it to spy at their leisure, was passing thiough Brussels a few days ago. Here are the terms in which he described tile sentimenti which certain Belgian towns profess towards the Boche*: "At Liege," he said, "they despise us." "At Xaniur they tear us. "At Briii--els they don't give a d for us." This old soldier has a very good understanding of the pysehology of crowd-. Let us bet that our excellent Governor shares this opinion, hacli issue of " I'Vea Belgium" spells with a letter addressed to the Governor-Gene-ral. which breathes defiance and sconi of the German rulers.
