DRURY

VALEDICTORY SOCIAL. Despite the unfavourable weather on Friday evening of last week a large company assembled at the send-off to Private G. Bycroft, who is leaving for the front. Mr J. Flanagan presided, end a good supper was provided, and warm patriotic speeches were delivered. Songs, etc., were rendered by Mv Seaton and Miss Molhtt and their efforts were onthusiastica"y received. The speakers were lvev. W. C. Potter, Messrs J. Flanagan, Fyfe, G. Bycroft, seur., and T. Brooks, and the guest of the evening responded. Dancing wlm indulged in by tho younger generations, and a good time was spent. AH the arrangement were capably carried out by the committee and their able secretary (Mr W. Toouian,, nothing being left to chance.

REV. ME MADILL FAREWELLED.

At the usual meeting of the Drury Young Women's and Young Men's Bible Classes on Tuesday of last week, the Rev. J. D. C. Madill gave his farewell address. Subsequently, on behalf of the combined classes, Mr Johnson presented Mr Madill with a travelling bag as a small token of the esteem in which he was held. Leaders and members also spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr Madill and the good work he has done in his stay of the past four years, and all regretted the fact he felt compelled to change the sphere of his labour.

Mr Madill replied in suitable words, thanking all for their k ,- nd words and useful present.

Mr Madill and other members also spoke a parting word to Mr E. Wall, one of the most consistent members of the Class, who left for the training camp last Tuesday. Refreshments were provided and handed round by the Young Women's Class, and the singing of the National Anthem brought the meeting to a close.
