Mr Gillespie replied on behalf of "Ihe Press," anct the health of the chairman was enthusiastically honoured on the proposition of the Rev. W. C. Wood. During the evening songs were rendered by Messrs Seaton, McKinstry, Ricketts, D. Wilson and Andy Richardson, the lirst-named being encored twice. The National Anthem, followed by "Auld Lang Sync," brought a very sociable evening to a close.

Captam Summervillo, lato of the local railway engineering staff and now a member of the IHh Reinforcements, visited Papakura on Wednesday, and in the evening was entertained by several friends at the Papakura Hotel. He left for Auckland yesterday morning preparatory to his return to-morrow to the Trenthaui Camp. A meeting of dairy suppliers, convened by the Waikato Co-op-erative Dairy Co., Ltd, is to be held in the Papakura Hall tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

Additions to the number oi' residents are always welcome, and it is therefore gratifying to be able to record that the erection of three new dwellings on the Great South road for personal occupation by their owners is about to commence. The Misses Johnson have removed their Tea Rooms' business to the premises in the Broadway formerly occupied by Mr W. Crawford, and Mrs Seaver, proprietress of Cliff Boarding House, has taken over the tea rooms in Widdowson's Buildings vacated by the Misses Johnson.
