The local creamery closed down ou the 'Jth in at alter a very successful season and it is expected to reopen the lirst week in July, when owing to the mild weather and abundance of feed a large supply should be forthcoming. The Parliamentary Union took ou a fresh lease of life at the sitting held on Monday last, which was well attended. Mrs H. il. JL>. Wily was elected Governor, Mr E. Allan being appointed Premier, with the following members for his Cabinet, viz. : Finance and Defence, Mr A. J. Melville ; Railways, Mr J. K. Hamilton ; Munitions and Friendly Societies, Mr S. Harper ; Justice, Miss G. Johnson ; Education, Miss G. Neal ; Labour, Post-master-General, Mr T. Walker ; Public Works, Mr A. A. Civil; Native Allah's, Miss 11. Allan ; Internal Allah's, Mr A. Tozer. Mr (J. G. Avery agreed to undertake tho duties of Leador of the Opposition. The election of Speaker was deferred until nest sitting. The Address-in-Keply to tho Governor's

A very successful coi.cert was Lelii, in the 11 all ou Wtilnos lay night, the performers being h s follows : (Solus, Mrs Keano, Miss M. I'ulmau, Mossrt, T. Walker, Best, and A. Smith ; violin solos, Mr I'uiman : recitations, Masters Costollo and C. Maxwell , and two choruses by the Auckland Musical Club. An enjoyable dance followed, the music being supplied by Mrs W. Davy in her usual oHicient maimer. Mr T. Wilcox being M.C.
