The Suburbs-Puni match proved fast and interesting throughout. Puni secured from " bully-off," and for a few minutes were dangerous, but the Suburbs' back division were equal to the occasion and cleared to their forwards, who pu; in some great rushes reaching tho circle, but Penny failed to find the net, the ball going just outside the posts. From the 25 Puni again attacked, Pollock and Lucas being conspicuous. After a few minutes ot hard battling K. Lucas scored a liue goal. Puni 1, Suburbs 0. In the second spell the pace began to tell, Suburbs proving themselves in better form. Their attacking was all that could be desired, their half line especially appeared very fit, while the Puni halves were feeling the pinch. However, some good passing was witnessed on both sides, the match ending—Suburbs JJ, Puni 1. For Suburbs, McLean was easily the best, while T Lauer, W. Lauer and L. Reynolds played a good game. For Puni, E. Adauis, ac full-back, was safe, while Lucas and Pollock were the pick of the forwards. Pukekohe defeated Mauku, at Pukekohe, Jby 2 goals to I. This match was also well contested, Pukekohe proving themselves superior in their defence. For the winners, J. Quinlan were the most conspicuous. The whole of tho Mauku team played a good game, and it was hard luck they did not register a win. No doubt before the season closes this Club will comeilo the fore.
