WASTE PAPER WARMS ITALY'S TOMMIES.
IT HELPS TO KEEP THE CAMP FIRES BURNING.
In Italy there is as great a demand for saving waste paper as there is in London, but with a very different oboct in view. There it is being save.! so that it can be repulped and us-uf over again. In Italy it is saved so that in the long run it can be used t < keep the camp fires burning on the Italian front.
In all the leading towns of Daly organised bands of boys and gir.'s colics all the old newspapers they can find These papers are rolled and pressed into solid rods of paper by machine.y, and are then cut into short length-. and packed into hags for distriuiition to the soldiers fighting in die mountains.
There, of course, drw wood is svarce, and this waste-paper fuel has proved just the right thing fora the trenches in the. snow. The paper fuel is extremely light, an important consideration along the mountainous passes and roads where every pound has to lie considered.
