A fairly good attendance was secured at the rncc irg convened by Miisra G F Druce and T J Corin, chairmen of the Koad Board and Town Board rcsppc'ively, and held in the fublic Hall on Friday evening last for the purpose of assisting in the recruiting movement. Mr Druce was voted to the chair. Mr Mabee explained the objects of the meeting, which in accordance with a request received from th2 Manukau County Council was to form a Committee to supply a correct list ot "tligibleß" ia the district, not to canvass for recruit*?. Mr Mabee mentioned that already Macurewa had supplied 45 representatives to the ranks and that the remaining "eiigibles" were comparatively lew in number. The committee appointed were as follows, viz., Messrs Druce, Conn, Alex toui" 1 , 1' Roy and Males A meeting ot residents of Manurcwa, Wiri, Takanini and Weymouth has been called by Mr Corin for this ultercoon tor the purpose of organising e.Torls to assist in patriotic work
