BROTHERLY LOVE BARRED.
AMAZING GERMAN ORDER TO
TEACHERS
Under the heading "Imprinting Sentiments of Hatred in German Children," the "Arbeiter Zeitung," of Vienna, states that an order has been issued to whool children by the Government of the listrict of Frankfort-on-Oder m the following terms, which wc take from the "Pall Mall Gazette": Lately the teachers m the schools have been instilling into the minds o.' the pupils the idea of brotherly and international love, from the point of view of culture, and have been working against all thoughts of hatred of other nations. This feeling of common brothemooa, which has sprung from a love of international peace, must not be indulged in. On the contrary, one of the first duties of teachers is to see that the dreadful experiences of the recent past and of the present should bo retained ineffaceably in the minds of the losing generation. Before all things must the conviction be generally rooted in our people that Germany will only gain peace and assurance through her forces on land and sen, and that all brotherly sentiments and effort* at reconciliation with other nations in an intellectual form must be abstained from. Also, the children must be taught that the events of this war are not only to strengthen the empire, but also love for their Emperor and King and the fUihenzollern house. The daily prayers now said by the pupils for our rulers must be directed towards fostering pitch loyal affection bath now and after the war.
All attempts to excuse: or lighten the shameful acts that the enemies of Germany have committed all over the world will render teaches liable to punishment.
