STOCK SALE Messis Alfred Buckland and iioi s report:—We he Id our monthly sales at Pokeno on Monday, May 15th, and Kunciman the day following. Both yards were comfortably filled with stock, aod there was little difficulty in finding buyers at ruling prices. Dairy cows brought from £7 to £ls, Recording to qjality; fat cows and heifers, £7 15s to £l2; yearling to 18 months heifers, £2 15s to £4 17s 6d; steers, fame age, £4 to £5 ss; three to four-year steers, £9 6s to £l2 ss; two-year steerp, £6 5s to £7 ss; |<ood raises, £2,29 to £2 15?, smaller £1 15s to £2 Is, small £1 3b to £1 13s POKEwO KOAD BOAKD The first meeting cf the newlyelected Board was held on Monday last, when there were present: MeEsrs K H MrKenize, (J P (J'Leary, K Lyons and S McCaw (jf Mr McKeizie was re-elcted chairman on the motion of Mr (J P O'Leary It was resolved that the petition favouring the merging of the Board s district in the County should be circulated amongst the ratepayeis In accordance with a request contained in a circular letter it was decided to depute Mr S E Wright, secretary cf the Auckland Provincial Employers' Associat o:', to set for the Board at the Arbitration and Conciliation proceedings to be held iu connection with the application from tha Labourers' Union for an award to cover all local bodies' employees in the Auckland Provincial District It was decided to arrange for the formation of that portion of the Paparata Koad leading froa the junction of the Maungatawhiri road to Clarkson's bridge Accounts passed for p3ym:nt amounted to to £27 18s 4d
