Good bags ara reported from rros of the sportsmen who 9hot last week in tte lower reaches of the river. Mr G Lapwood secured a bag of thirteen mixed game, Messrs Frost Bros' party bagged 55 grey duck, and other bags got by shooters from Waiuku and Puni ranged trom 12 to 60 birds, according to the party Miss T H Frost, lately assistant teacher at Mercer, haa been appointed temporary assistant at tte local school, in place uf Miss Worthington, who has been transferred to Devonport
Mr G Howe's new dwelling is neannp completion, and will be quite an acquisition to the distriet
