FORMING AND DRAINING HO AD, WAIUKL HIDING
A petition was received from Mr C Harris and others asking tnat the road between the PukekoheWaiuku road and the Waiuku-Drury road via King's ba formed. Arrangements have been made for tbe neceseary formation and the vcork will be gone on with at an early date. As regards the drainage of road between King's and Shakespeare's, it is intended that levels sbould be taken to ascertain if tbe water can be taken round the corner and under the Waiuku-Drury road QUINN ROAD Mr Gearon waited on tbe Council at tbe last mee.ing with reference to the state of the old bridge on the Packington end of Quinn road and approaches thereto. After making inspection it was found that the bridge could be replaced with large concrete pipes, Ihe approaches are in a bad state, and the puttings require to be widened and the grades eased. I would suggest that proposals be submitted to the Public Works Department for the above work, which would cost approximately £IOO. There ij a £ for £ subsidy of £SO on the estimates for this road TRAMWAY ROAD, PACKINGTON Arrangements have been made to form a portion of tbe road between Gearon's corner and tbe WaiukuDrury road and alEo for necessary repairs to the small bridge BALD HILL ROAD Up to the present the contract for Flexman's Deviation has not been let. Necessary repairs and reforming of portions of the road are being carried out and when completed siioutd make a decided improvement WAIUKU-DRURY ROAD BRIDGE
A thorough inspection has been made of the bridges between fatumahoe turn-off and Stoney Hill. There are three bridges in number. With an approximate expenditure of £75 they would be fit to carry heavy traffic such as traction engines, etc. At present the bridges are safe to carry ordinary light trnllic. I would suggest that the repairs be carried out CUTTJJNG AND CLEARING TKEES, PATUMAHOE TO DRURY ROAD Notice was sent to the owners of property on this road to cut down trees and clear the obstruction trorn the road. '1 his notice was sent on tbe 29th October, 1915, and up to tbe present no attempt has been made to comply with same. 1 would suggest that steps be taken to at once have the trees cut and obstructions removed. MAUKIJ CREEK
As per instructions an inspection was made of the creek and it was found that Mr K Wright had cleared his portion and that Mr John Gillon had done a certain amount of work, but not in accordance with the notice sent. A further notice has been served on Mr Gillon giving him a speciiied time in which to do tbe work or the Council will do it at his expense. Until this portion of the creek is properly cleared the settlers above are unable to make a satisfactory job of their portions NOXIOUS WEEDS ON COUNT\ ROADS

DKfIINAGE ON PATUMAHOE PUKEKOHE ROAD
Levels have been taken for aa outfall drain twenty-eight and a-half chairs in length, starting at tbe oli watercourse in Mr J Woods' property, cro3sing Patumaboe road and passing through Mr Robinson's property. Drawings have been prepared showing the levels and depths uf d:ain, also locality and crocs sections. It will be recessary to put in a four foot diameter concrete culvert under the roadway. The total cost of the drain and colvert would be approximately £l5O. 1 would suggest that Mr J Wooes pay half the cost of the portion of the drain passing ing through his property, and Mr Robinson to construct the portion of drain from the road to the top end at peg No. 2850. This drain should be made as it would act as an outtall drain for a considerable length of county roads. At present the water flows from the roads and simply lies on the land during tt.e winter months

At some future date when the road is teing formed to its permanent level, the water from the Puni Creamery road can be drained succ ssfully this way. This work should be put in hand without delay. The work of arainicg that portion cf the road between McNally's and Hart's corner ba<? now been completed SI ONE CKUSHING PLANT
