Tuakau School Election.

r TO THE EDITOR.] Sir, —Hennessey and Dooley have put the finisning touches on the school election fiasco. I presume now that they have iioislied " thro wing-off" at the businessmen of the town. Northerners are familiar with tho methods of Hennessey and Go., aud with tho occasional spasms of attemptod humour. May they rest in peace. Sini;a tho olection our school has lost an ab'e teacher. Most of m know why. Winter approaches and children have to be taught in a draughty porch for want of spice elsewhere. The present Committee prefer this state of things rather than meet tho Northerners halfway in regard to a new bvilding. Such ib their interest in the welfare of the children. Are the requirements of householders and the needs of scholars to be overlooked in the din of contending parties ';' Let us have a new school or a patch* ed up old one. Anything in fact to give the kiddies a chance. I am told that land round the old school would decrease In value £■'» per acre if the school was removed, therefore tight removal. If this is tho attitude of owners then the educational value of the children can be reduced to a matter of dollars and cents! Surely there are men amongst us broad onougli and big enough to ond this fiasco. Drop Ilonnessy and Dooley overboard; knock our heads together North and South and take joint action in tho interests of the kiddies. Were wo united we could take tho Education Board by the beard and demand decent school accommodation at onge, Who amongst us will hold out ttjQ olive branch to North aud South ' —Yours otc, PARENT.
