MOUMOUKAI.

A CHILD DROWNED. Death's mantlo closed in on the life of Rueben George Piggott, the second and 18 mouths old child of Mr and Mrs P. Piggott at Moumoukai on Tuesday last under tragic eiroumstauees. The little oue was playing in the yard adjoining the house with an elder brother ami the latter began calling loudly for •' Lulu," the unfortunate little lollow's pot name. Mrs Piggott rushed out and found the child laying face downwards in a creek outside tho yard. She took him into the house and with a neighbour endeavoured to resuscitate life, but without success. An inquest was held at the home of the bereaved parents on Thursday before the district Coroner, Mr C. Roadley. A verdict of death by accidental drowning was returned.
