Mr A. A. Civil has started business as a land and estate agent in Buckland, and particulars of some of the properties he has for disposal will be found in our advertising columns. The usual monthly meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council was held last evening, the members present being the Mayor (Mr H. O. R. Mason) and Crs. Bilkey, Beatty, Clarke, Patterson, Barter and Hubbard. After an absence of five months in Auckland, where he has been doing relief work, Mr. F. V. Fraser, S.M„ returned to his magisterial duties in the Waikato yesterday, when he conducted the regular proceedings at tho Mercer court. In the unavoidable absence of Cr. Koadley the anticipated discussion on the proposal to raise a loan of £BOOO did not eventuate. The business transacted was mainly of a routine character and will be duly reported in our next issue.
