STOCK SALES REPORTS.

Messrs Alfred Bucklond and Sons report as follows :

On Thursday, April 6th, we held a clearance sale at Mr E. Neal's, Buckland. There was a very large attendance, and everything sold well. The dairy cows and heifers were a choice lot, and sold at from £8 os to £l2 15s (averaging £lO 10s), yearling heifers £3 to ,£4 10s, calves £1 10s to £2 os; pigs, porkers, 31s to 375. We also sold, on account of Mr A . Bilkey, dairy cows and heifers at from £9 5s to £ls £lO 15s), 18-months heifers £5 to £5 10s, farm mare £2G. At our weekly fat stock market at Westfield on Wednesday, we "penned beef to the number of 478, comprising 207 steers, 173 cows and heifers, and eight bulls. Competition was good throughout at values on a par with last week's report. Choice ox sold to £2 3s 6d, prime £2 to £2 2s, ordinary and rough beef £1 10s to £1 18s; cow and heifer £1 10s to £2 Is ; Steers ranged in prices from £ll 17s 6d to £24, the latter price for the first-prize at Te Aroha show, fattened by Mr J. McNicol; cows and heifers £6 2s 6d to £l4 15s. The highest averages were Eight steers from B. Reed, Waerenga, £l7 18s 9d; eight from W. Wright, Waiuku, £l7 Is 3d' eight from C. G. Robertson, Waiuku £l6 8s 9d: eight from H. E. R. Wily Mauku £l6 17s 6d The 61 calves sold well; runners from £5 5s to £6 ; heavy suckers, £4 17s to £5 13s, medium £3 5s to £4, light £1 4s to £2 10s, small and fresh dropped 3s to £1 3s. Sheep were penned in average numbers, and were firm at last week's quotations. Extra prime heavy wethers, £1 8s Od to £1 12s 3d; prime, £1 7s 9d to £1 8s 3d; medium to heavy, £1 6s 6d to £1 7s 3d; light and unfinished £los 3d to £1 5s ; heavy ewes, £1 4s to £1 5s 3d; good ewes £1 2s to £1 3s 3d, others 17s to £1 Is (1733 sold). There was a full supply of lambs, which met with a steady sale ; heavy prime £1 Is to £1 2s 3d, good 18s to 19s 6d, light and unfinished 12s 9d to 17s 3d (397 sold). There was a large yarding of pigs. Porkers and stores were slightly easier. Choppers sold from £3 to £4 10s; heavy baconers, £3 15s to £4 ss, medium baconers £3 10s to £4, light baconers £3 to £3 10s; heavy porkers, £2 14s to £3, medium porkers £2 to £2 13s, light porkers £1 10s to £1 19s; slips 16s to £1 os; suckers, 6s to I'd (324 sold).

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report : At Pukekohe on Tuesday we had a full yarding. Best dairy cows and heifers sold at from £8 to £l2 ; others, £5 to £7 15s ; 2A to 3-year-old steers, £7 5s to £9 6s ; 18months to 2-year steers £5 to £6 19s; yearling steers, £3 9s to £4 10s ; steer calves, £2 2s to £3 ss, according to quality ; heifer calves, £1 to £2 os ; yearling to 18-months heifers, £2 12s to £4 ; heifers suitable for dairying, £4 5s to £5 2s Gd. Beef was penned in large numbers and sold at extra high prices. Fat steers sold at from £l2 to £ls 58 ; fat cows, £8 to £l2 ss. In this sale practically everything was sold.
