Shirkers and Aliens.

| TO THE EDITOR."i Sir,—l have been informed that the Franklin County Council are employing Austrians on their stone crusher and that they have several eligible men working on various road works. I can hardly credit that such a patriotic body of men as we have for councillors could be guilty of such and for the benefit of the public think that the report should be denied if untrue. There is no'doubt that there are a lot of shirkers about and it is surely right that none should be earning the ratepayers' money.—l am, etc , H. MELVILL CRISPE. " Te Mahoe," Mauku.
