RAMA RAMA.
A must enjoyable -social was held in Mr M. Ballard's barn last Friday evening. The object of the gathering was to farewell several residents who were leaving the district, namely, Mr and Mrs Burdis, Mr and Mrs Hill and Mr and Mrs Paton. Musical selections, recitations and songs were rendered during the evening by Mrs Oldham, Misses Hampton, F. Oldham, Anderson, Aldridge, Crooks, and Messrs Ballard, Banks, lieid and
Hill. Dancing was interspersed with the items and was kept gomg till the small hours of the morning. Just before supper was handed round Mr J. Tooinan, in a neat speech and on behalf of the residents, asked those who were taking their departure from tlio district to accept the guod wishes of all present fer their future prosperity aud health. Mr llill and Mr W. Burdis suitably responded. The fact that the bain was tilled to oversowing testified to the popularity of these socials, and though Mr Ballard ha - just enlarged the building its increased dimensions hardly sulln-ed to hold the large company. The lloor was in splendid order and one and all pronounced the evening a decided success.
