There passed away recently at Winv England, a man of very versat:Lo taknits" and interesting career in Mr. Daniel Junes. Living to a groat age. -Mr. Junes was the last remain;n_! ot the original founders ol tit* AllKngland Lawn Tennis C'luh; lie never nib-ed attending a sing'e champ'onshiu tournament sinie r no championship was instituted, and was virtually the author < f th<» laws ot ttio game. A IVuriridge wrangler, he practised at the Chancery liar till the ag.> <>l 7'.'. He was a famous mountaineer and member of tiie A'pino C'luh, and a nohd glee s'nger in his younger '-ay-, and one o' th.e original numbers i t the Moray Minstrel-. An exceptionally brilliant whi-t player. Mr. Jor.es was the brother of Henry Jones, who, under his ]H'ti name of " Cavendish, is known the world over as tlu' great authority on the game.
